Your own notice address
Welcome messages, invitations, password reset links and other automatic notices to your mailboxes normally come from the platform's address, such as "Mailocity" <noreply@mailo.city>. A domain can send its own instead, such as "Acme IT" <noreply@acme.com>, so your people only ever see your brand.
Setting it
On the domain's page (tenant manager: Domains, then the domain), card Notices:
- Notice address: an address on that domain, such as
noreply@acme.com. The domain must be proved first. It cannot be anyone's mailbox, alias, list or room, and nobody can take it afterwards; replies to it are refused, as they would be to the platform's. - Sender name: what the notices show as the sender, such as
Acme IT. Leave it empty to keep the platform's name.
Clear the address to go back to the platform's. Each domain has its own: a mailbox's notices follow the domain of its address.
From the API, PATCH /v1/tenants/{tenantId}/domains/{domain} with noticeFrom and noticeName.
Good to know
- Notices are DKIM-signed with the domain's key, so publish the domain's DKIM record (see SPF, DKIM and DMARC) or they may land in Junk.
- When the platform sends notices through an outside mail service instead of this server, that service's address is used and this setting has no effect.
- A domain moved to another tenant drops its notice address.
